The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has announced a $2 million campaign to educate Texans on steps to take to “not give Zika a biting chance.” Funds for the public outreach campaign come from federal public health emergency preparedness funds. To read more…

Last Tuesday’s runoffs resulted in two extremely close races in the Texas House. 23 votes gave Briscoe Cain (R-Deer Park) an extremely narrow win over incumbent Rep. Wayne Smith (R-Baytown) in House District 128. Scott Cosper (R-Killeen) also narrowly defeated Austin Ruiz (R-Killeen) with 43 votes in the HD 54 race to succeed Rep. Jimmie Don Aycock.
