John Lujan (R-San Antonio) defeated Tomas Uresti (D-San Antonio) in the special election for House District 118 by a margin of 171 votes. Representative-Elect Lujan will serve the remainder of Rep. After 20 years of service, Sunday, January 31st will be Rep. Ruth Jones McClendon’s last day as state representative for House District 120 (San Antonio). 11 months remain of her term. A special election date to fill her seat will be decided by Governor Greg Abbott. To read more…

Sen. Paul Bettencourt (R-Houston) has been elected by his colleagues as the next Senate Republican Caucus chair. This position was previously held by Sen.
